American actor Courtney Thorne Smith was born November 8, 1967. Her best-known work is her roles in Melrose Place as Alison Parker on Melrose Place, Georgia Thomas on Ally McBeal, Cheryl in According to Jim and her regular role in Two and a Half Men as Lyndsey McElroy. Thorne-Smith was born in San Francisco, California, and grew up in Menlo Park, a suburb south of San Francisco. Her father, Walter Smith, was a market researcher for computers, as was her mother, Lora Thorne, was a therapist. Courtney at seven years old at the time, separated from her father, Walter Smith. She lived with both of her parents, at various times. Jennifer her elder sister is an executive in the field of advertising. She attended Menlo-Atherton High School located in Atherton, California and graduated Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley in 1985. While in the high school, she participated in the Ensemble Theater Company in Mill Valley. Thorne Smith's debut movie role was in the movie drama Lucas. She was accompanied by Winona Ryder (Corey Haim) and Charlie Sheen. In the 80s, she appeared in a variety of films, including Welcome to 18 (1986), Revenge of the Nerds II : Nerds in Paradise (1987), Summer School (87) and Side Out (1990). She appeared alongside Carrot Top in 1998's box office failure, and was Chairman of the Board. She appeared in Sorority Wars in 2009. Thorne Smith was a friend of Andrew Shue from Melrose Place in the early 1990s. In June 2000, she got married to geneticist Andrew Conrad; the couple split in January 2001. On January 1 in 2007, she wed Roger Fishman, president of the marketing company the Zizo Group and author of the book What I Know. At the age of 40, she gave birth on January 11 on the 11th of January, 2008, to Jacob Emerson Fishman.
